Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder. It develops when your pituitary gland, located deep in the brain, produces too much growth hormone (GH). Growth hormone affects growth of all tissues of the body, especially bone.

This screen is used to aid in the diagnosis of acromegaly.

Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.

Insulin-Like Growth Factor I (IGF-I, LC/MS)
Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Thyroxine Free, Direct Dialysis (FT4)

Patient Instructions: Fasting required. Fasting is defined as no consumption of food or beverage other than water for at least 8 hours before testing. Samples should not be collected during or soon after the administration of Heparin.
